The chromatic scales are used to demonstrate the student’s mastery of the full range of the instrument. Students unable to make that commitment should not apply to audition.Īll students auditioning pay a $10.00 entry fee per instrument and are required to play a chromatic scale and 2 etudes for his/her instrument. Students participating are required to attend all events (100% of every rehearsal) during the festival. We ask that directors confirm that each student applying from your school is available for the entire All-State weekend (March 10 11, 12) before the January auditions. All participants are required to attend all rehearsals and the performance for the All-State Festival weekend (March 10, 11 and 12, 2022). The student must be a member in good standing of his/her school’s band program throughout the school year.
Outstanding musicians, who are students of IBA members, in grades 9 -12 are eligible for All-State Band. The finale concert will be at the Elliott Hall of Music on Sunday, March 12 at 2:30 PM EDT. The 2023 Indiana Bandmasters Association All-State Band Festival will be held March 10 - 12 at Purdue University in West Lafayette.
